Praise and Thanks to the 35 participants in the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy (AAGT) Southeast USA Fifth Annual Regional Conference, Supporting the Whole (Body/Mind/Spirit)
Throughout the conference I felt in the “flow” (a mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity.) As the AAGT Regional Contact Person I was the facilitator of the whole, supported by the Appalachian Gestalt Therapy Institute(AGTI) conference committee and the Gentle Bio-Energetics Institute.
Learning new or different:
- Dreamwork, gestalt in general, to experience people in new ways.
- More awareness of ethical skills and ethical issues.
- I hope to incorporate self in relationship (I-Thou).
- Notice more internal and find expressions in work.
- Importance of oscillating between internal and external awareness.
- Concept of how to facilitate movement of body sensation from torso to limbs to expressed resolution release.
- Music-ways to incorporate music in therapy.
- I learned that I can be myself with plus and minus aspects, learning to be present, contact.
Keep on Contacting and watch our web site agti.org for future events!

What participants had to say about the 2011 Conference...
Comfortable, adequately intimate, good classroom space.Improve diversity of participants, age, gender.
More time would be good.
Pre-conference group could have been longer.
The pace of the schedule was comfortable and the fact that I got to spend the weekend in lovely Asheville during the most brilliant few weeks of fall was jut icing on an already exceptional cake.
I wonder if peak leaf weekend is the best time however, traffic is heaviest, restaurants are fullest, rooms most expensive.
Somewhat concerned about ethics presentation, especially for participants just starting in the field.
Thank You! Great Job! Bravo! Good Conference will come again!
Great Leaders! Fantastic! It was well organized! Good Food!
Good range of opportunities and workshops! Relaxing, fun, learning.
